Thomas A. Burg

Overview

Tom Burg is a commercial and technology litigator, providing trial counsel to many of the world’s most successful innovative companies in complex multinational and domestic business and intellectual property controversies. He represents clients in courtrooms and administrative forums throughout the United States and in arbitrations worldwide.

Prior to joining Bialson Bergen & Schwab, Tom was an attorney with DLA Piper (US) LLP and its predecessor firm Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich.  He was a key member of trial teams in three successful bet-the-company patent trials and acted as lead counsel more than fifteen trademark counterfeiting cases on behalf of a major consumer products manufacturer in the US District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of California.

Tom also donates time to pro bono representations. He recently obtained a complete dismissal and subsequent award of attorney fees, under California’s Anti-SLAPP statute, for a client in an action concerning “chilling statements” made to an adoption agency concerning a proposed adoptive parent.
